What an interview and meeting! From practically the first moment we met during our video conference Charles and I had an immediate rapport. And the more we spoke the more was revealed what we had in common.
He is an author of seven books and had sent in a rather lengthy bio but rather than shortening it, I saw what a compelling story it was. So I had an unprecedented event on the podcast and had the guest read his own bio. I nearly cried about five times. This is a man who has been through the grinder. And has come out the other end as a shining example of personal development.
And although he had been through so much pain the thing that choked me up the most I think was his childhood. His parents had died and he had to move far away to be cared for by relatives. He had to leave his beloved dog Max behind. That was not the beginning of his traumatic life and it certainly wasn’t even close to the last.
- We speak about:
- Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Long-term addiction recovery (since 1993)
- Detoxing in Army Basic Training & AIT
- Military, Army, Infantry
- Life after suicide
- Experience as a homeless veteran
- Inspiration through dedication
- Self-protection tips
- Four of his seven books
This is one of the most poignant conversations I’ve ever had on the Self-Help Coaching podcast and we became instant friends. I strongly encourage you to listen to the podcast and hear two adult men strangers who have much in common, connect with each other and embrace personal development. How it is saved them and how the future is so bright for them as well as the people that they help and are going to help.
